All homes made by Manorwood Homes are
constructed with many standard features that exceed
building code requirements. Every home is built with
2X6" exterior walls and 2X4" interior walls. Every house
we build is well insulated - a minimum of R30 insulation
in the ceiling and R19 in all exterior walls. Every home
is also fully protected by structural grade OSB
sheathing around the entire exterior.
Contruction Process
Every home built by Manorwood is built inside a
controlled environment. Our employees are skilled crafts
people, building homes by hand and with powerful,
sophisticated tools. Our main components are assembled
on specialized jigs, ensuring quality and precision. We
use quality, graded lumber, and name-brand appliances,
flooring, and other amenities.
Each phase of the construction process is monitored by
Manorwood's quality assurance team to provide the
highest level of workmanship. In addition, an
independent third party inspection agency assures that
each house is built in accordance with state approved
codes.
Floors &
Frames
Our transverse floor systems are built on
specialized jigs, using graded 2 X 10" floor joists,
with engineered truss joists as an option. Tongue
and grooved OSB floor decking is both glued and
mechanically fastened to create a solid, quiet
floor.
Exterior
Walls
All exterior walls use 2 X 6" studs on
16" centers. The walls are constructed on jigs,
insulation installed in all cavities, and drywall is
attached with special adhesives and mechanical
fasteners. Exterior walls are finished with OSB
before siding is applied.
Interior Walls
All interior walls use graded 2 X 4"
studs. Drywall is attached with adhesives and
mechanical fasteners. The drywall finishing begins
with special high strength corners, then three full
coats of joint compound are applied for a smooth
even finish. Finally a generous coverage of primer
paint is sprayed and then rolled to create a uniform
texture.
Roof and Ceiling
Proffessionally engineered trusses are
precisly layed out on a specialized jig. Ceiling
drywall is attached using special adhesives,
eliminating the need for nails while providing even
greater stability. The ceiling you selected is
primed and finished. The entire roof system is
attached to the home, fastened to every interior and
exterior wall. A blanket of insulation is blown in,
decking is fastened to the trusses, and soffit
ventilation is completed. Finally, shingle
underlayment, sealants, and architectural shingles
are installed.
Mechanicals
Kitchen and bath fixtures are completed
and ready for site hook-up. Electrical work is also
completed as much as possible, typically with the
electrical panel box ready for site hook-up. All
electric, water lines, and drain systems are tested
and inspected again to ensure all systems are
functioning properly.

Warranty
The Commodore Corporation and its divisions are proud to
include the New Home Warranty by Residential Warranty
Corporation ("RWC") and Manufactured Housing Warranty
Corporation (“MHWC”) on almost all of its new modular
and manufactured homes. RWC and MHWC builders are
thoroughly examined for financial stability, customer
satisfaction, and technical competence.
The RWC New Home Warranty for new modular homes provides
buyers with one year of coverage on workmanship, and ten
years of coverage on major structural components.
Similarly, the MHWC New Home Warranty for new
manufactured (“HUD”) homes provides buyers with one year
of coverage on workmanship, and ten years of coverage on
major structural components.
When you buy a new product, you expect it to work as
intended. A written warranty is your assurance of
product satisfaction. Since a home is one of the most
expensive items you will buy, you should expect it to
come with a written warranty. With the RWC New Home
Warranty or MHWC New Home Warranty on your home, you can
be assured that your home was built by professionals and
that it meets certain industry standards of quality
construction.
Providing the homeowner with a strong foundation of
security for their home is important to The Commodore
Corporation. You should have the peace of mind knowing
that The Commodore Corporation has made the extra effort
to provide you with a written commitment - a warranty on
your new home protecting your investment for years to
come. After you move in, your RWC Warranty or MHWC
Warranty specifies what will be done to correct problems
that may arise from the components used in constructing
your home.
Setting this warranty apart from others is the length of
the warranty term. Traditionally, a third-party company
will provide a specific warranty on your home for one
year. However, the RWC Warranty or MHWC Warranty
provides buyers with one year of coverage on
workmanship, and ten years of coverage on major
structural components. The warranty is fully
transferable to new owners. With the RWC Warranty and
MHWC Warranty, you can feel confident in your purchase
and protect your investment for years to come.
For more information about RWC or MHWC, please visit
their website at www.rwcwarranty.com. Contact your local
retailer or builder for information on which homes carry
the RWC or MHWC warranties, or simply check the
"Standards and Features" section for that specific
model, and thank you for considering our homes as yours.
