Abundant hills make up much of the
town affording the advantages of picturesque scenery
without the usual disadvantages of poor access. Today, Hillsborough is a vibrant
community of about 5500 residents. From the
Sylvania plant which employs nearly 1000
people, to smaller independently owned
businesses Hillsborough is thriving.
Hillsborough is close to state forests,
skiing and other outdoor recreation as well
as the State Capital, Concord. Woodland
Meadows is carefully carved out of 25 acres
to create 9 building lots. Together these
partially wooded and level lots share
conservation land, and Fox State Forest.
This 1445 acre forest was donated in 1932
and is intended for public use as a teaching
forest to understand forest management
issues.
